Time to wrap up another week and plan the next one. I shared one Sunday tradition this morning, but there’s another tradition I have. Every Sunday night I talk with one of my best friends, and every Sunday the subject is the same. How a chapter in our lives is ending (=week) and it’s time for a fresh start, hahah. She actually just texted me happy new year, yeah we’ve taken this quite far, new year starts every Monday. But how fun it is to think about a fresh new start, what you want to achieve next week, what kind of things you want more, what less. What was the best thing about this past week, and what was the worst. Pay attention to small things that made you smile, and was there something taking too much your energy or bringing you down? Pay attention and do differently next time. And keep the things in your life that made you feel alive. Like what did you do, who were you with, what were you wearing, anything. I’m wishing you all more of those lovely moments for your next week! Take some time to think about the past week, and remember you deserve the best, all the happiness and freedom, so treat yourself that way. I’m wishing more energy for next week, so I hope it’s ok to go to bed at 9PM… Well good night! ♡

It’s always a great thing to reflect and recap on things especially with a good friend. It really keeps us grounded to focus on the positive of energy and motivation for the next day. That is what truly a good friend is for! 🙂

I don’t understand how this can be your full time job, taking pictures of yourself and shopping for clothes. I just don’t get it. Your English has so many mistakes yet you pretend to be a professional.I don’t mean to hurt your feelings or anything but it just seems so vain to write about nothing all the time and take pictures of your new outfits.I guess it seems empty to me because i am a student of medicine and my goal is to save people’s lives. I think fashion is fun but parading what you bought all the time and writing all the time the same things that don’t really say anything specific like starting fresh and new whatever that means…is a little empty. Why don’t you at least give the writing a ittle more quality and say more about your life about yourself. If you don’t then it just seems always the same. Went for a coffee had breakfast with a friend blah blah… get to the real stuff at least … men..women, whatever is your preference, relationships, problems, family .. real things in life.

It’s a little bit true that you always talk about fresh starts, and I don’t know how it reads in Finnish, but in English, there’s something missing. What exactly do you need a fresh start from? Your life is amazing.
If it refers to stuff that you don’t share with us on the blog, then maybe you should consider talking about fresh starts a little less?
I love you! Don’t get me wrong. I just think Gabriella has a bit of a point.

Gabriella,
Yes I’ve created myself a job of a hobby I started 11 years ago, a hobby around my love for the world of internet, creating new, photoshop, html-coding, fashion, lifestyle, photographing and writing. In the beginning it didn’t base on my own pictures and I never imagined I’d show my face here partly because I was afraid I’d be judged, by people who see others “better than and less than”. (That kind of world makes me sick.) My job is about those subjects, though my whole life isn’t. I need something to keep to myself too, to keep myself sane.
I’d never put the people around me in that position, that I’d write personal stuff about them on my blog. I do write my true feelings from my heart but ones that I feel okay writing here. There’s one thing I don’t understand: what are you doing here? Why are you torturing yourself and reading a blog you obviously don’t like?
DMJ says
I have never commented before, but today I just felt like I had to. I’m a med student as well and coming here (shall I admit almost everyday? 😉 ) works both as a blessing and an inspiration to me! It honestly leaves me with a “smile on my face” on my workaholic and why not say it…depressing days. Marianna’s positive thinking and beautiful depiction of life (even if we don’t know half of it) are what makes this blog successful. At least that’s how I see it and that’s why she is my absolute favorite blogger and one of the very few I can relate to. Who care’s if we know what her fresh starts are all about as long as they can inspire us? ;))

Thanks for this positive energy! I am now looking forward to a fresh start tomorrow!

I’m glad that you’ve decided to write posts more often lately, especially when they are so interesting and uplifting <3 I think the same as you about this whole idea of ending a week, mondays are for fresh starts definitely! 🙂 what I also realised when reading this post was that it will be wonderful to read a book written by you one day, you should consider this in the near future since it is an enormous pleasure to go through your thoughts because they are all so smart and eye-opening ;*
Wish you a great week 🙂

Dear Marianna,
I love your blog and the way you write. I read the other comments and I can’t get them. What’s wrong about being reflective and trying to improve every time. You give me so much inspiration with your blog. I like the way you think about life, trying to make a fresh start every week. My boyfriend and I say each other every evening before we fell asleep what we were grateful for that day. And that is so good because you focus on every little thing during the day. Please don’t take the bad comments to heart, you’re creating wonderful content here and I am grateful to read it every day. XX jana

Thank you so much Jana, that means so much to me! Gives me a big inspiration/motivation rush to read those words. So thank you for being there! <3

Me too!! 🙂 It’s good to stop and think about it, sometimes you just keep going from day to day without thinking how you could improve your life or if it is the way you want it to be. x

Ok you’ve got a point what am I doing here I should not torture myself. I always browse through all the bloggers on indiedays not just yours. I would just like to see more depth in this one. It is a great blog. But taking pictures of yourself and of your healthy breakfast with your friend is a little bit old news. Sorry have to run now. We’ve had an attack in London and I am an internt at the hospital. Don’t get me wrong i love to read your blogs on my break and all the other blogs on indiedays but all those issues that i mentioned really bothered me a little that it’s always kind of the same. Fashion pictures of yourself and pictures of food. Everything’s always amazing but you don’t go deeper and that’s nor real. Just being honest. If you don’t like that and just expect compliments all the time I am sorry. But I just felt like I had to write what I really think after reading your blog for a while.Just an opinion as I said.
Marianna says
In your previous comments where you also linked your site you were artist from France, Luciana. (Also your ip address is located in France.) You don’t have to make up stories to make me feel bad, or not as good person as you are. I really like your art work though, really creative and different.
Gabriella says
I am not an artist i used a website of a friend before because why not. I don’t have my own website. Not everybody does you know 🙂 .I have nothing creative to be proud of but I do enjoy art and design. Creative people are interesting to me, bloggers artists I really apreciate them.I wish I was creative or an artist. I am a med intern and at the moment I am in France visiting family that is a fact. I was always drawn to your blog before, but you don’t let the readers inside your world. It seems a little fake to always take pictures of what clothes you bought and talking in the abstract way. I read other bloggs on indiedays and there are girls that show themselves their boyfriend their children.. their families, you don’t have to show their faces they can be mentioned or in the back but the way you write seems like you living alone with only one friend who likes you and are single for years and years. It doesn’t seem real. You don’t mention your family much brothers sisters… you don’t mention boyfriends or girlfriends…thank god you got a dog because otherwise the bog would be just about you and your bag.
