Finally May. Funny how just when the month changed, I noticed the weather changing, only now it starts to really feel like spring. I bought myself a new pair of nude ballerinas, I started to use my summer perfume, and I’d really want to find some cute light colored dress… I’m in a total spring mood right now!
Viimein toukokuu. Hassua miten sää vaihtui juuri kuun vaihtuessa oikeasti keväisemmäksi, vai kuvittelenko vain? Ostin uudet nuden väriset ballerinat, otin kesätuoksun käyttöön, ja huomaan etsiväni juuri kaupoista jotain vaalean väristä mekkoa, josta mulla on visio mielessäni muttei vielä ole löytynyt… Olen siis yhtäkkiä aivan kevätfiiliksissä!
Started my day today with these hydrating things before my actual breakfast, after partying I always crave for everything that contains water and sugar. Fruits and everything fresh.
Tänään alkoi aamu ennen varsinaista aamiaista vain nesteytyksellä, juhlintojen jälkeen himoitsen aina vesimelonia ja viinirypäleitä, kaikkea vesi- ja sokeripitoista. Ja raikasta.
These cute looking things I got from Foreo a few days ago at an after work event. Seriously it’s amazing how that baby blue colored illuminating eye massager works, wouldn’t have believed it until I tried myself. After a rough weekend this came into good use, bye bye under eye bags!
Next I’m starting to pack for London. We used to have a tradition with my mum that we went right before summer somewhere on a city trip, I’ve really missed this tradition! I trust in neutrals, surprise surprise, when traveling it’s best to have the kind of clothes you can easily combine together. And I also trust in light scarves, flat comfy shoes, knits and jeans. I’ll probably read my packing post again just as a reminder, I’m feeling a little slow still after the weekend.
Seuraavaksi alkaa pakkailu Lontoon reissulle.
Any last minute London tips? Restaurants, shops, pretty areas or streets (for outfit pictures haha), anything? I always love discovering new places, so please tip me if you have something, I’d really appreciate it! 🙂 I hope the weather is good there, last time it was surprisingly cold… Okay now I’ll start packing and checking things off from my to do list!

You just HAVE to go to London’s Sea Life, it’s mindblowing! Then, you HAVE to check at least one of these places for the ultimate food and overall experience: MariVanna, Hakkasan, Yauatcha, Berner’s Tavern and Sexy Fish.
I also love New Bond St. and Oxford for shopping.
Btw, love your pink ballerinas!! 🙂

Hello from a long time reader in London!
Here are some recommendations all around the city which you might like:
Holland Park’s Kyoto garden or the Serpentine Kensington Gardens – if the weather is good of course!
The Victoria Park area is also really nice in East London, with a lovely pavilion restaurant for brunch and nice independent shops around it, but is quite far from the centre. Same with Brockwell Park in South London – but it’s a beautiful spot with a lido and award winning restaurant.
Marylebone High Street (with brunch at Providors) or Seven Dials for shopping (Kopappa is a really nice place to visit for food there)
Coffee Shops: Monmouth (Seven Dials), Bageriet (Covent Garden), Foxcroft and Ginger (Soho) (the rhubarb and custard muffin there is delicious!)
Padella Pasta near London Bridge/ Borough Market
The whole Borough Market area is also good to walk around for lots of different types of street food as well as restaurants.
Franco Manca for sourdough pizza (Covent Garden/Brixton)
Bird in Shoreditch if you venture that far!
La Gelatiera (Covent Garden) – amazing variety of ice cream flavours
I also agree with the other commenter who suggested Granger & Co for brunch, and also J + A Irish Cafe nearby in Clerkenwell for something really relaxed (Irish tea and sausage sandwich!)
Chiltern Firehouse (fun but expensive) or the bar at Hoxton Hotel in Holborn, Bar Termini in Soho or One Aldwych for a drink
The Wolseley for something quite posh, or it’s sister restaurant in Aldwych The Delaunay.
Maison Bertaux in Soho is London’s oldest patisserie, and Balans Cafe nearby is nice too and really has a Soho atmosphere (and you can people watch!)
That is a lot of things, I got a bit carried away haha! But I hope you have a wonderful time in London whatever you choose to do! 🙂
Marianna says
Wow so many great tips – thank you!! <3 Haha I really appreciate you getting carried away! x

I just bought red ballerina flats even though I rarely go for colour. But they were too pretty to pass.
Unlike the weather where you live, here it’s worse and worse. It’s raining and miserable and I didn’t have a chance to wear my new shoes yet.
You’re going to my favourite place on earth which I still haven’t been to. I would suggest going to some parks for photos if the weather is nice. And maybe picking out places that other blogers didn’t. 🙂
Have a lovely day
Nena
Marianna says
Oh noo.. I hope the weather will change there soon! Your ballerinas deserve to go out asap! Thanks so much for the comment Nena! 🙂 x

Ottolenghi for the best brunch and or cake (and the restaurant in Islington is just so pretty)! And the canal in Islington could be great for an outfit post…

Tänne Lontooseen on luvattu loppuviikosta yli kahtakymmentä astetta joten melko kevyissä vaatteissa varmasti pärjää 🙂 Tosin tuuli voi olla ajoittain todella jäätävä joten pack a warm scarf hah. Kannattaa ehdottomasti käväistä jossakin puistossa, ne oikein kukoistavat tällä hetkellä! Omat lempparini ovat Kensington Palace Gardens, Holland Park ja Green Park. Ruokapaikkavinkki: Granger & Co (Westbourne Grove, Notting Hill). Superkaunis ja tyylikäs ravintola. Tilatkaa kulttimaineen saavuttaneita pannareita, oikealta nimeltänsä ricotta hotcakes! Westbourne Grove on muutenkin yksi lempikatujani, sen varrelta löytyy toinen toistaan ihanampia vaatekauppoja (Aime, Sandro, Joseph). Ja Harrods nyt on aina worth the visit. Welcome to London xxx
Marianna says
Kiitos Katja vinkeistä, pakko tsekata noita paikkoja, kuulostaa niin hyvältä! 🙂 Hihii jes kiitos ihana! <3

I can recommend the Primrose Hill area to hang when the weather is nice. From Primrose Hill you have a beautiful view over London.
You can find the most amazing restaurants basically everywhere but here is what I can definitely recommend: Blues Kitchen, Honest Burgers, Franco Manka, Brentwood Coffee, Sushi Samba (nice for drinks as well)
Hope you have a great time!!!

If you like burgers and some really good booze, don’t miss the Meat & Liquor. It has the greatest burgers – my favorite is Dead Hippie (yup, that’s the name) – and some good drinks too. Their fries aren’t bad, either. Really, go over there and tell me about it. (:
Oh, the place is a little bit strange, but it is just ‘scene’, people who goes there are plain normal, haha.

That’s a great tip – thank you Amanda! X
