This might be the first time I’m dedicating an own post for a book. Or books. Or more like to an author, mentor, meditation teacher, role model – could go own saying good things about this woman. Gabrielle Bernstein. Mona was the one who introduced me to her books for the first time, I got that one called ‘Spirit Junkie’ as a present. At first I had doubts about it, and thought it might just be another nice self-help book. I’ve read some self-help before, so this category isn’t new for me. But this one turned out to be so addicting, eye-opening and powerful! In a different and more real way than the others. I’ve read it twice now, and started to read that newer book called ‘May Cause Miracles’ a while ago, just had to order it online after searching for more of her work. I’ve also listened to some of her lectures and meditations on spotify and youtube (you’ll find them if you search Gabrielle Bernstein), and I love the way she speaks. She’s been through a lot and is so authentic and real. She’s just right on point. It’s hard to sum up what Gabby’s teachings are about, she includes there so many things: from self-love and body image, to romantic relationships, how to relieve anxiety, let go of fears, see things with love, see everyone as equal, how to love life and think with real positivity. And most important, how to listen to your inner voice, which is always right. And how to separate if from the negative self talk, which is false, and get rid of the false projections we’ve created. I’m pretty sure we all have them, some stupid negative things we believe in, that we don’t even question. Even if you think you wouldn’t need to read a self-help book (hate that word), I think everyone would get something out of these!
Anyone know Gabby, or read any of her books?
Ps. I was supposed to post you this yesterday, but guess who forgot her laptop home when visiting parents… Been such a long time since I was there, had forgot my packing routine completely! (Laptop, phone, wallet, glasses and contact lenses, keys, Vichy’s face cream. Next time read this.) Happy Saturday night people! <3
Tämä taitaa olla ensimmäinen kirjoille omistettu postaus. Tai enemmänkin kirjailjalle. Gabrielle Bernstein, mun todellinen girl crush!
Ihanaa lauantai-iltaa teille! <3

Thank you for this post and reminding me about Gabrielle’s books! I wanted to find ‘Spirit Junkie’ a while ago and forgot, good to know there is a new book also!
I also advise Anita Moorjani “Dying to be me”, “Yogagirl” by Rachel Brathen, Eckart Tolle and Margaret Paul – all have websites and books and in a different way and with different levels of depth they are all SO inspiring and at the end give a similar message about life and love.
P.S. Your room is so beautiful, Marianna, and the light out of the window looks like a real spring 🙂

I just saw you obviously deleted Anna’s comments. I totally agree her, it’s really sad you hadn’t found time to answer two letters, that might not take that much time. Like you know I don’t comment that often, I’m always a secret reader and so I don’t share my thoughts here.
But now it reached the peak I think. Her comment was definitly not meant and I don’t know what do think about your reaction. In germany there is this phrase ‘out of sight, out of mind’ so this seems to be the only logical reason why you decided to delete the comments.
I don’t want to tackle you but I am also really disappointed, not so much about you not answering than about your reaction on Anna’s comment(s).
I wish you a nice sunday anyway and I still hope you’ll answer.
xx
Blog reader says
I am not so much following the comments part of posts, just reading the posts usually, but I read all comments for this post and as a reader I have to agree: it’s not nice to delete the ones that were no rude but maybe a bit of challenging. Looks like only compliments are welcome here, and then I don’t feel like being a part of it more…
Marianna says
I deleted it because I wanted to answer her by e-mail as I did, I thought it was personal, but I can put this now also here what I wrote, since I don’t want any of my readers to feel not appreciated. 🙂 :
Hi Anna,
I just read your comment on my new post, and decided to e-mail you my answer. I’m sorry if you’ve felt that way, but I hope you still know that I appreciated your little surprise on the post a lot. I hope you saw when I commented you that I wore your bracelet and really liked it, and featured the letters on the blog resolutions post. I also tried to answer to every of your comment, and let you know that I’m grateful for having you as a reader. I’m a little sad you still wanted me to feel guilty and arrogant, I really don’t want to be ignorant to any of my readers who have been there with me for years.
Hope you had a good weekend!
Best
Marianna
Anna says
Alright guys, it’s fine. I agree its somehow personal and Marianna replied to me as you can see. So no reason to continue the whole thing. I just replied to Marianna by mail and I guess we’re friends again 😉 🙂 have a nice sunday all! 🙂

Priscilla says
I’m curious about them! thanks for the tip, Mari (:
Which one is your favorite? xx
Marianna says
Hmmm, really hard to say, Spirit Junkie was the first I read and I loved it. It’s maybe easier to read, because you can just read and think how right on point she is, it changed so many of my thought patterns really! On ‘May Cause Miracles’ the reader has to do more work and it takes maybe more time, but impossible to say which one I like more! Hihi and no problem! 🙂

Hi Marianna, thank you for sharing this post. I imagine it was a bit scary putting something quite different up but I’m so glad you did. I discovered Gabi’s book “Spirit Junkie” about a year ago. I bought the audiobook version and listened to it in my car on my way to work and absolutely loved it, it really shifted something in me. I’ve listened to it about 10 times and always put it on when I’m feeling lost as it seems to help put me back on the right track again. It’s great to hear how much it’s helping other people too!
