I’ve been asked to do a workout/food post for quite a long time now. I’ve been postponing this probably because I don’t have any special diet or fitness-lifestyle… But taking care of myself is still important for me, and being healthy, so I thought why not to write a few words of my habits.

Oon varmaan lykännyt tän tekoa siitä syystä, ettei mulla sen ihmeempää dieettiä tai fitnesselämäntapaa ole. Hyvinvointi ja itsestään huolen pitäminen on mulle kuitenkin tärkeitä, niin miksenpä näistä omista tavoistani vähän kertoisi.
I’ve noticed that working out keeps so many things together. If my head is blurry or my thoughts somehow messed up, I like to go out for a run or just walk. No matter what the time is. Last week I found myself on a power walk in the middle of the night, but I needed that, after it my head was cleared and I slept so much better. I also go to the gym few times a week, it varies. But I love the fact that I can go there whenever I want, that I don’t have any special gym program or rules. After every workout I have such a good and energetic feeling, that the habit is easy to keep. So I think I have a pretty good balance in working out, I do both aerobic and anaerobic, running and gym. And my mind is healthy without rules or being obsessed on fitness. It’s just something to keep me healthy and happy. I never cancel anything because I have to workout etc, it’s something I fit in my life naturally.
Oon huomannut, että urheilu pitää mulla monet asiat kasassa. Jos ajatukset on jumissa niin lähden lenkille tai kävelylle, kellonajasta huolimatta. Eli terkut vaan lukijoille jotka bongasivat mut viime viikolla kello kahdelta yöllä lenkiltä, haha… Salilla tulee käytyä myös viikottain ihan vaihteleva määrä, tykkään siitä ettei ole mitään tarkkaa ohjelmaa tai sääntöjä, vaan sinne voi mennä kun huvittaa. Rennolla fiiliksellä, eikä pakkopuurtamista. Joka treenin jälkeen jää niin energinen ja hyvä fiilis, että tapa pysyy ihan luonnostaan mukana. Eli suht hyvin aerobinen ja anaerobinen tasapainossa, lenkkeilyä ja salia. Ja mieli pysyy kunnossa kun ei niitä sääntöjä. Ja se ei ole mulle mikään maailmanloppu, jos olen suunnitellut meneväni salille ja tuleekin muuta menoa, urheilu menee luonnollisesti sinne muun elämän sekaan.
Me couple days ago heading out to the gym. I love bright colors in sports clothes, especially that bright coral! I have a running jacket and some tops also in that color.
Minä pari päivää sitten ennen salia. Urheiluvaatteissa rakastan värejä, varsinkin tuota kirkasta korallia! Sitä löytyy treenitopeista, juoksutakista, ties mistä. Kivoissa vaatteissa treenaaminen on jotenkin kivempaa, vaikka tavallaan sitä ajattelisi että ihan sama miltä salilla näyttää. Itseä se vaan piristää!
And then a few words about food… I eat basically everything but in a good balance, there isn’t anything forbidden. Some basic thing that I eat every day are different salads, dark bread, smoothies, berries and fruits, and just normal homemade food. I feel better when I eat healthy, so these are the things I enjoy and prefer. My weaknesses are all kinds of desserts and sugary things, but when the base is okay and healthy there’s also room for those in my diet. When I eat home I’m just used to eating healthy, but when I’m out with friends or at a restaurant I order whatever I feel like eating.
Muutama sana vielä syömisistä… Sama juttu tässä kun urheilussa, mulla ei ole mitään sääntöjä. Mikään ei ole kiellettyä, kaikkea voi syödä kohtuudella. Pääosin mä kyllä syön suht terveellisesti, mulle jokapäiväjuttuja on erilaiset ruokaisat salaatit, ruisleipä, smoothiet, marjat, hedelmät ja tavallinen kotiruoka. Heikkoutena mulla on makeat jutut ja jälkkärit ynnämuut, mutta kyllä nekin hyvin sinne ruokavalioon mahtuu kun on se pohja kunnossa! En ole oikeastaan ikinä syönyt niin kovin epäterveellisesti etten tiedä millaista se olisi, mäkkärit ja take awayt ei ole ikinä oikein ollut mun juttu tai mitään perusarkiruokaa. Ne on sitten semmosia sosiaalisia tapahtumia haha, ravintolassakin kiva syödä mitä mieli tekee, mutta kotona syön ihan luonnostaan freesimmin. Herkuista en pystyisi silti luopumaan!

Ohh, I love how naturally it all sounds. So easy. But I feel the same way. When I want and I feel I need, I go for a walk or for a jog. After any kind of workout the feeling is just soo good!!!
And I LOVE fresh salads. But I am living with my fiance who wants a lot of meat and “real food”. Hehe. He says salads are for cows. LOL. But I still try to eat them, but I am not eating as much as I want maybe. I should change that! What I eat every single day is fruit salad. But today I noticed that after I eat a healthy fruit salad I want chocolate. Always after eating fruits I want something sugary:S It’s so bad! I hope it changes.
I really hope you can do more food recipes. Maybe share some of your favorie salads recipes and also recipes of warm food (potatoes, chicken, meat, pasta, rice..whatever you eat). Maybe I’ll get some good ideas what to eat 🙂

I love the health/fitness posts because everyone has different habits and routines when it comes to their health. I always try to go to the gym but I find myself getting bored. I like to go running outside and take a different path each time and hope I run longer than last time. Then, I’ll stretch and do killer ab exercises. It works for me and it relieves my stresses!

I’m trying to change my food, more heathy. And it got better over the weeks, but I still have my bad moments 😉 and about sport, I’d love to start doing some sport but when I’m done with work (I work on 12h shifts) I just want to sleep and I don’t have any idea how to change that yet.
But after reading that you’re doing your work out when you want to, not when you have to, I’m kinda more motivated. 🙂 thanks!

I think this is the healthiest way to do. When you say “no sweets ever”, it’s how you get frustrated, unhappy (and most of the time you’ll end up having sweets anyway but even more than if you had allowed it in reasonnable size before). Same goes with your workout : you have to “force yourself” to be active a little but moslty it should be fun and natural so it comes easy and you don’t get frustrated about this either 🙂

I cant resist dessert so I just eat healthy meals all day and like you, just order whatever I want when I go out to eat. I dont go out to eat enough for that to really be a problem i think

I think working out and running suits you very much! In the past, when you haven’t taken sports so serious your figure looked not as good as it does today. Your weight hasn’t probably changed so much but your shape has! You look more athletic and somehow healthier! 🙂
I would love to read some more recipe posts, especially that chocolate cake that you showed us at Instagram looks delicious!
P.S.: That pony tail looks so nice! It would be an easy alternative of your everyday hairstyle… 🙂

I like the idea that you just work out whenever you feel like it. (looks like you found a way that works)

Thank you! It’s so refreshing to see a beautiful woman who is healthy, but not incredibly strict who has no life and won’t allow herself to have fun. I do about the same, but I have a few extra pounds on my thighs that won’t come off no matter what I do. But I try to be happy and just realize that I’m healthy and I have a husband who thinks I’m beautiful. I try not to eat too much unhealthy or too much bland.
